There are two features of the Leica systems past and present, one, its cost and the other is the number of accessories that have been produced, particularly for the rangefinders.

Here Pam and Cled adapt an R series accessory to give a close up facility on the Q3 43 similar to the Elpro 52 at a somewhat cheaper cost.

To demonstrate they are using a Leitz box from the past to get closer and closer. Then use it on a flower.

With the World Cup occupying so much of the planet’s population’s time Don reminisces about the 1966 event show the sort of trials and tribulations he and other sports photographers had to endure to get the shot. Fancy not getting the Hurst Winner in 1966 Don!!!! This article gives us all a glimpse behind the scenes of a famous sports photographer working in a different era from 1966 to through the 1970s. Don also covers the appalling behaviour of fans in the 1970s and 80s which made him stop covering top league matches. The last photos show that Don has still got the ability to capture the action.

This week Tony Tarlton tells us the story of a very old Leica related lens owned by the renowned Leica specialist, Malcolm Taylor. This lens that dates from the early years of the 20th Century has produced A3 size prints showing excellent detail that you can't see on a web sized version and its colour rendering is good too.
As Malcolm is a member of the Leica Society this photo will also feature in an article on their site.

This week Keith Walker shows us a museum that will fascinate those of us interested in motor bikes but also tells us of the impressive individual after whom the museum is named - Sammy Miller. He was an incredibly successful rider in many trials and other competitions and is still alive at 90+ working in the museum!

Don Morley knows Sammy very well and has taken hundreds of photographs of him since the 1950s. Don has kindly sent a few photographs from his remaining stock so we can show you this accomplished racer adding to Keith's photographs of Sammy's museum. You'll find them after Keith's photographs
